About Nelson Carpentry & Construction
Nelson Carpentry & Construction is based in Colorado Springs, Colorado and specializes in finish carpentry. From installing doors and trim work to fully custom built-ins and everything in between. As a master carpenter and trained luthier I have a well trained eye for detail and don’t settle for good when I know what great looks like. If you are a home owner, builder or designer that appreciates craftsmanship and notices when it is lacking, Nelson Carpentry & Construction is at your service!
I believe the customer shouldn’t have to pay for their contractors inefficiencies or lack of planning. By working deliberately and utilizing efficiencies developed over years I am able to provide high quality results at a fair price. I am also an owner/operator, meaning I both plan and perform my work personally. In my opinion there is often an excess of hands involved typically increasing the cost, compromising quality, and causing confusion throughout the project. I also provide 3D renderings of my custom projects that let you see what you’re getting before any work has started. This allows for little to no surprises and the ability to make changes with much less cost involved.
Nelson Carpentry & Construction is passionate about delivering uncompromised craftsmanship that will stand the test of time.
About Kevin Nelson
I am the owner and operator of Nelson Carpentry & Construction. Originally from the suburbs of Chicago I have had a life long passion for creating and working with my hands. After trying out college at the University of Iowa as well as the University of Illinois I attended The Galloup School of Lutherie in Big Rapids, MI where I studied guitar making and repair.
In over a decade of work in the trades I was fortunate to have the opportunity to develop skills in many different crafts such as, lutherie, metal working, hardscape, outdoor living spaces, and of course carpentry to name a few. A diverse skill set helps me to think outside of the box helping to create unique spaces that fulfill your needs.
As a craftsman I am always striving to improve my skills each and every project, from a simple install to the most complex build there is always something to learn and room to improve. We are also quite fortunate to live in a time where information from other skilled craftspeople is so abundant and openly shared that having a mindset of a learner you can have the equivalent of dozens if not hundreds of apprenticeships.
